25 employees belong to the HD Maps department. Permanently employed cartographers, geographers and geodesists, but also students, career changers and mini-jobbers, all have the same goal: to produce a high-definition map of road networks. Together, we model motorways or inner cities in the country and abroad.
For this purpose, the evaluated data from the kinematic surveying are summarized in an inventory plan. The traffic logic, i.e. the topological structure of all lanes, connections, footpaths, cycle paths, etc., is then determined on the basis of the signage or road markings and incorporated into the inventory plan. The additional link logic is a prerequisite for simulating automotive industry applications on the basis of HD Maps.
Export formats for HD Maps are for example OpenDRIVE® or ROAD5 for CarMaker by IPG Automotive. We develop quickly through our own ideas and the wishes of our customers. Therefore boredom is a foreign word for all employees of the HD Maps department.
